oh man... i am damn slow. think i gotta summarise things abit.
Part 2.3: 03/06/07- 13/06/07

Basically it's nothing much already. haha... ok, tt day, i did the things every woman in my hometown do- pick tea leaves and chit-chat with my relatives there.
And this is before the leaves are dehydrated. Oh well.. An Xi is famous for it's tea leaves. =)
yup. so tt day, i simple stayed at home and picked leaves from the.. things. ahahha..

visited the places where dad used to stay, marry my mom and gave birth to my sis. yup. super old places. weeds all over the place.
quite a cool day. talked more with relatives, even took a picture for my dad and his brothers. errr... too many pics. ahahha... will show u guys if there is chance.

it was all bright and sunny when my cousin rushed into our rooms and said grandma was dying. so i woke up immediately and rushed to grandma's room. she's dead by then. it was 4am.
i was very angry with my sister and especially my brother. my brother was TOTALLY indifferent about the whole thing. he even slowly took his time to come down from his bed... dragged his feet to grandma's room. i mean... hello, we din even change or brush teeth to see grandma, then he was like.. wat an asshole. yes, i was angry and pissed with him. and i still am when i think of it.
whole day went by like a buzz preparing funeral and stuffs. the place has reserved many weird traditions. their idea is to cry as hard as possible, sing funny songs and shouted out for her name and stuffs. well.. and my job was abit like first aid. any moment any anutie collapse from crying, i would try to comfort them, gave them drinks, rubbed oil on their forehead and stuffs. the job was not a good one, especially when among those who collapsed include ur mom.
yes, still, my brother disappeared most of the time.

funny practices continued.. like ppl born in pig years, dog years and some of the years couldn't look at the scene when they put grandma into the coffin. certain ppl born in these years and with menses couldn't touch the coffin, etc.
tt day was very cloudy. and we need to walk like.. 1 km or sth before we hopped on a bus to some ulu place for cremation.
we walked to the old old house where she married into the lau family. we kneeled down there and the crying episode started again. mom collapsed again. then burnt some incense sticks and some paper money, we continued walked.
and then it started pouring. without umbrella, with menses and had a long distance to cover, i felt really uncomfortable. i was completely drenched and we hopped on the bus to our destination.
everything in china goes on SLOWLY. we waited for like... 3 hours for the cremation to take place. and it was not even packed. there was only one other coffin there to be cremated. well.. china.. no comment. anyway, coz' it was at high place, it was all cloudy and windy. cold. freezing.
reached home at 7+... drenched, felt sick. attended some funny rituals again, dismissed.
drained. i miss eugene.

rest more, things were back to normal. my sis requested to go to the nearest town to walk. and there we went. nothing much to talk about. just that... we had another episode of disagreement with my sis.

packed our stuffs and ready to go xia men.
as the rain continued, alot of places were flooded and the traffic was bad. we stuck on the road for nearly... 6 hours. twice of usual time taken.
2nd uncle was kind. we treated us to dinner at mao dan. this high class resturant, top in xia men. we ate lots funny food- beef, pork, fish, pawns, lamb, chicken, etc. all kind of good food.
we toured around in the car, admiring the rainy xiamen.
we stayed at my first auntie's house for the night. I LOVE CIVILIZATION.

cousin bought us to do some shopping. coz' my bro's shoes were completely ruined in the rain. i bought a pair of shorts.
time was running, and we needed to catch our flight at 2pm. so we shopped awhile and left to the airport, leaving my sis shopping around with cousin's wife (her flight to singapore was at 6pm).
carrying many many things, dad called a van to pick us up at the hk airport.
YES! HOME FINALLY.
nightfall, me and my sis toured abit at the place i most familiarised. things changed. shops replaced. things become unfamiliar and strange. finally could take one good look at the place i used to love.
10/06/07- 13/06/07
mainly shopping and touring about. with my meimei wanting to buy this and that and ended up i buying them. went to some factory outlets, went out with ps and that famous temple in hk.
and.. before i knew anything, i was on my way back to singapore.
coming back to singapore was both a relief and nightmare. relief coz' i think singapore suited me the most, especially after u'd stayed in so many places.. nightmare becoz i COULDN'T BELIEVE the state of my house.
my sister was home since 9th and the house looked dirty and stuffs. crap. i needed to clean this and wash that. and i needed to prepare dinner. pissed. was my sister a woman?! oh goodness, so dirty. i had no idea how she lived in this very house.
TIRED.
tired marked the end of my hectic trips to hk and china.
